Verses of the Quran:

Surah Hajj (22:37): "Neither their flesh nor their blood reaches Allah, but only your piety reaches Him. Thus Allah has submitted them to you, so that you may magnify Allah. Give good news to those who do good."
Surah Hajj (22:28): "Mention the name of Allah in the sacrificial animals, those that fell down when they were born. He created them as useful goods for you, and you eat in the name of Allah. Now prostrate yourself before Him and give good news to those who do good."
Hadiths:

Hz. The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Every Muslim must sacrifice on the day of fasting and on the day of Eid al-Adha." (Tirmidhi)
Hz. Ali (r.a.) said: "Our Prophet (pbuh) ordered us to sacrifice. We said, 'What will we sacrifice for us, O Messenger of Allah?' Our Prophet (pbuh) said, 'Every year, the sacrifice to which you approach Allah is sacrificed.'" (Abu David)
Hz. Hadith of Abraham (a.s.): The basis of sacrifice in Islam, Hz. It is based on the story of Abraham (a.s.) agreeing to sacrifice his son Ishmael upon the command of Allah, but in the end a ram was sent to him.
These verses and hadiths emphasize the importance of sacrificing a sacrifice, that it should be performed for the purpose of getting closer to Allah and giving alms, that it encourages Muslims to have piety and increases social solidarity. The meat obtained from the sacrifice should be shared with those in need, so that the poor can also experience the joy of Eid. This worship is considered an expression of drawing closer to God, loyalty and social solidarity.
