Akika sacrifice means a sacrifice sacrificed for a child born in Islam. Akika sacrifice is made on the day the child was born or in the name of the child born on a certain day. This practice is carried out in the form of a prayer and supplication for the child to have a healthy and successful life.

Although there is no specific obligation or obligation to sacrifice Akika, this practice has a traditional importance in some Muslim communities. Akika sacrifice can be performed on the day the child is born or within seven days after birth, or up to the age of seven.

During the sacrifice of Akika, the rules regarding sacrifice in Islam must be followed. According to Islamic rules, akika sacrifice is carried out as follows:

Selection of the Sacrifice: A healthy, mature and perfect animal should be chosen. Sacrificial animals such as sheep, goats or cattle may be preferred.

Intention: An intention must be made for the sacrifice. Slaughtering should be done as an act of worship dedicated to God.

Slaughtering the Sacrifice: The slaughter should be made from the front of the animal's neck with a knife or similar cutting tool. It is important not to harm or cause pain to the animal during the sacrifice.

Meat Distribution: The meat of the sacrificed animal should be divided into three, some of it should be distributed to those in need, some of it should be shared with relatives and neighbors, and some of it can be kept for one's own family.

Akika sacrifice, which is carried out in accordance with these rules, is traditionally sacrificed by family elders or parents on behalf of the child. However, it is important to note that this practice is not compulsory and is not considered an obligatory act of worship in Islam. Akika sacrifice is performed as a personal choice and supplication.
